ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Business owners in Rockford using parklets say they are seeing more foot traffic.
Rockford Roasting Company says they have had their outdoor parklet for three weeks and say they are already seeing more customers coming in for a cup of coffee.
Owners say because their shop is only about 900 square feet, the parklet allows them to add extra seating outside.
“I think anytime people are downtown and you can see other people enjoying, whether its coffee or food outside in an environment close to the street close to where people are walking I think it only adds to the experience and to kind of the vitality that downtown is moving towards,” says co-owner of the Rockford Roasting Company, Benjamin Chauvin.
Rockford Roasting Company says they are hoping to hold their parklet permit through October.
