ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - A Chicago native is bringing us an inside look into the lives of Rockford nuns in a new documentary premiering this weekend at the Nordlof Center.

Chosen (Custody of the Eyes) follows one woman in the Corpus Christi Monastery in Rockford as she follows her calling to become a cloistered nun.

Abbie Reese, a first-time filmmaker, followed the woman, starting in 2005, into the secluded community to follow their monastic life. Reese says her documentary answers questions you may have about the hidden world of nuns right here in the Forest City.

"Who are these women that live there? Why are they doing this? What is their life like? I think people who come to this screening will get a glimpse of what monastic life is," said Reese.

Reese's documentary will play from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Nordlof Center.
