ComEd announces 2018 Residential Hardship Programs

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- ComEd is offering financial aid to help residents of Winnebago and Boone counties keep their lights on.

Starting Wednesday, you can apply for the Residential Hardship Program. Those who qualify can receive up to $500 toward their electric bills.

Hardships include military service, disability, medical bills, loss of job or family crisis. You can apply from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Community Action at 555 N. Court St.

You are not eligible for residential hardship funding if you have received it within the last two years.
