City of Rockford declares snow emergency

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The city of Rockford Public Works Department has declared a snow emergency starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

The city says odd/even parking will be in effect until public works no longer deem it necessary.

Starting at 8 p.m. cars should be parked on the odd side of the street. At 8 a.m. on Saturday, cars should be moved to the even side of the street. Cars violating the odd/even parking will be ticketed.

Public works says if a street says no parking on one side, the snow emergency does not allow you to legally park on the restricted side. They say even after the street is plowed, you have to stay parked appropriately
