LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - The city of Loves Park issues a snow ordinance and police say violations will cost you.

The snow ordinance says no one can park on the street when two inches of snow falls until plows can get through. It also says no one can park on North Second Street from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. after two inches of snow.

The police department says anyone parking illegally will be towed and fined $25 for their first offense and $25 for subsequent offenses. They say the offender will also have to pay towing and storage charges before they can get their vehicle back.

Officers say no snow parking tickets will be issued from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. if two or more inches of snow accumulates between those times.
