Christmas for Kids organizers have been collecting donations for the past 6 months for more than 30 silent auction items and 100 raffle baskets to be auctioned off. The proceeds from this fundraiser go to the Christmas for Kids shopping event which gives students the opportunity to buy themselves something special this holiday season. The group’s goal is to raise $27,000 this year.

"It’s very rewarding when you take them shopping at Walmart to see the kids get to all just go shopping. They get to spend $75 and get anything they want and it's really rewarding seeing the kids have a smile on their face," says one of the Christmas for Kids organizers, Milly Smith.

The Christmas for Kids shopping event will take place at Walmart Saturday, December 9th. Group organizers have a bank account set up for Christmas for Kids at Northwest Bank and money can be donated at any time.
