Bevidere police collecting for the Feed the Need drive

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) - Belvidere police are asking for the community's help to continue providing food, clothes and toys through their Feed the Need food drive.

The department is collecting non-perishable food items, toiletries and clothing for local churches, the Belvidere Salvation Army and veterans groups.

The drive was started about five years ago by a now-retired Belvidere police officer and other members of the department decided to keep it going.

Belvidere police will collect donations at the Aldi's on North State Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Pacemaker, next Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Officers will also accept donations for the drive at the Belvidere police station on North Main Street.
