Small fire damages gas station on the city's north side

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Fire Department quickly puts out an electrical fire at a gas station on the city's north side.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. last night at the Quik Mart at 3005 N. Rockton Avenue.

First arriving crews say they saw smoke coming from inside the building. After a quick investigation, they found a small fire on one of the outer walls and put it out.

Officials estimate about $5,000 worth of damage was caused. No one was hurt.
