6-year-old with cerebral palsy wins cattle showing competition at Stephenson County Fair

STEPHENSON COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – The Stephenson County Fair kicked off their junior animal judging competitions and a local boy with cerebral palsy took home first place.

6-year-old Aidan took part in his first beef judging competition and in the end he and his calf Blue Ivy took home the blue ribbon.

Aidan has been practicing all summer, talking the calf out every day to prepare for his big day.

“We're thrilled. He doesn't really like the cattle at home but since his brother and sister have always been showing cattle he earlier this year said "Mom can I show one" and we hate to tell him no and tell him he can't do something so we said yeah. We'll give him a try and he's done wonderful practicing at home."

The Dinderman family has been showing cattle for 25 years and this was Aidan’s first year competing. Congratulations to Aidan on his big win.
