JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- A firework factory exploded on the outskirts of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, raising the death toll to 47 people.
Indonesian police say the initial number was 39 but has since risen as the the inferno ravished the factory. Police chief Hary Kurniawan says the death toll could keep rising as many of the dozens of injured have extensive burns.
Kruniawan added that all 47 bodies recovered so far were found in the remains of the factory as the search continues.
Initial reports say the fire started early Thursday morning but spread after an explosion. The factory's roof collapsed soon after the explosion.
