UPDATE: 4,700 still without power in Winnebago County after Wednesday storms

UPDATE: STATELINE (WIFR) -- Nearly 5,000 people are still without power in Winnebago County more than 12 hours after storms swept through the Stateline Wednesday night.

Another 400 are without power in Stephenson County.

ComEd crews are still working to restore electricity.

STATELINE (WIFR) -- More than 16,000 people are without power after storms made their way through the area Wednesday evening.

According to ComEd's outage map, 16,045 customers are affected with 119 outages spanning across Winnebago County including Rockford, Cherry Valley, Machesney Park, Rockton, and Roscoe.

Another 5,000 are in the dark in the Freeport area.
