STATELINE (WIFR) -- UPDATE: As of 9 a.m. Thursday morning, more than 3,000 in the Stateline area are still without power with multiple downed trees, power lines, and standing water blocking roadways.
Lee County reports that 694 residents are without power and a portion of Sugar Grove Road in Palmyra Township is closed due to the storm.
Storms Wednesday evening left a large number of homes and businesses without power, including the greater Rockford Airport and Rockford University.
As of 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 4,000 people are without power in Rockford and another 1,000 had power knocked out in Belvidere. Six thousand are without power in Freeport, Stockton, and Orangeville, according to ComEd.
