Kourtney Adams joined the WIFR team in May of 2017 as the Weekend Anchor/Multimedia Journalist.
Kourtney is no stranger to the area. She was born and raised in Byron, Illinois and wants to share the stories of the people who surrounded her as she grew up. After graduating from Byron High School, she attended Illinois State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Acting.
While in college, she played an active role in ISU’s TV10 News Program as an anchor, reporter, and producer. She also interned at 23 WIFR in 2016. Kourtney had the opportunity to interview and meet a few celebrities during her time with TV10 News including: Jane Lynch, Patricia Arquette, Gary Cole and Jerry Springer.
Kourtney grew up performing in theatre and cheerleading at a young age. These activities helped her realize what she is truly passionate about, which is telling impactful stories and leading others to do the same. She now wants to meet as many people in the Stateline as she can so that she can help share their stories as well.
While not in front of the camera, Kourtney loves acting, singing, and dancing in her spare time. You may have seen her in a play or musical at the Byron Civic Theater. Kourtney loves to be with her friends and her big family whenever she has free time. She is an adventurer and loves to travel and meet people from different parts of the world. She has had the opportunity to study abroad in Europe for a summer, which helped her learn about different cultures. She also likes working out and is a certified Zumba Instructor.
