Andrew Stutzke joined the 23 Storm Team as the Weekend Meteorologist in September 2016.
Meteorologist Andrew Stutzke is no stranger to the Stateline. Having grown up in Sterling, Illinois, just an hour’s drive to the southwest of Rockford, he is very familiar with the extremes that Mother Nature loves to bring to the Midwest. As a young child he was continually fascinated by the weather, especially thunderstorms. Often times he could be found glued to the television watching The Weather Channel. Upon entering high school it was clear what his area of study would be once he started college.
After graduating from Sterling High School in 2004, he attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois where he received his Associate of Science degree in 2010. He then went on to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology in 2016.
During the summer of 2016 Andrew had the opportunity to intern at WHBF-TV CBS 4 in Rock Island, IL with Chief Meteorologist Andy McCray. He credits this internship in giving him the tools needed to break into the television news business.
This is Andrew’s first job in television and he couldn’t be happier to be so close to home. In his free time you can find him listening to the latest Alternative Rock and Indie music, enjoying many of the walking trails in the area, storm spotting, and spending time with friends and family.
If you see him out and about feel free to stop and talk weather with him! He never stops tracking it!
