The center is located in the Renaissance Pavilion and is specially suited for those of us with throbbing heads. Soft lighting and a comfortable lazy boy await patients battling a splitting headache or migraine. The headache center is connected to the Neurology Department, making it easy for doctors to collaborate on similar cases. Doctor Jeffrey Royce says before today patients seeking specialized stroke and headache care had to travel to Chicago for treatment.
"We have so many people that suffer from headaches as well as strokes and neuromuscular problems and I've been training for a couple of years to be able to bring this to Rockford and put Rockford on the map for quality neuro care," said Dr. Royce.
The providers located in the new center include a neurosurgeon, two neurologists and a headache specialist.
