Kibble Korner Pet Food Pantry Kick Off

In these tough economic times more people are heading to the food pantry for help, and now the same can be said if we need help feeding our pets.
Winnebago County opened the Kibble Korner Pet Food Pantry early this morning. It's a partnership with the Rock River Pantry to help the growing number of families who can't afford to take care of their animals. Many are now abandoning their pets or dropping them off at shelters. Owners surrendering cats increased 13 percent locally this year, while dogs surrendered increased 14 percent.
"So we're hoping there's going to be some people who will take advantage of getting some food. Be able to keep their pets at home, keep their whole family intact including the furry ones," says Melissa Seeling with Kibble Korner.
Kibble Korner is in need of donations, and asks the community for their support.
