Dozens of Rockford Public School teachers say they're satisfied with a school board committee's recommendation for the district's Language Immersion Program. The committee recommends next fall at Barbour, the school will go back to the 90-10 program. This means students would be taught 90 percent of their lessons in Spanish and 10 percent in English starting at the kindergarten level. The committee also recommends integrating the district's gifted program into one school covering grades one through eight. The committee wants Washington to be the host school.
