I think the Mayor of Detroit needs to resign because he is not doing what he has to do to prove that he can do his job, and complete it the rgiht way and not the wrong. He is not a good leader, and we cannot follow someone that does not know what they are doing. And we have the right to chose our mayor, which is someone that will do the right thing and help our city and the people in need.

Larry has had to show a tough hand to the weak and corrupt school district and ineffective police department. The school board has shown their abilities with the poor school testing and graduation levels of the past. The Mayor should have control of the taxpayers money that is thrown into our schools that are poorly managed. I am disgusted in the actions of many of the city's officers that abuse their power through speeding, running red lights, and driving without care. (daily) It is also difficult to attract quality employment opportunities when the education level of the community is below high school level. The roads and city infrastructure has been neglected for decades that forces the city to dump TONS of our money to fix the patchwork that Larry did not pave.Every transition in life has pain, but the progress that WE have acquired is encouraging that we have seen the worst and better days are ahead for the city. I will have a Morrissey for Mayor sign again in my front yard!

i'm going to disagree with all of you. larry morrissey is involved in every aspect of the city. the crime rate isn't his fault, the weather caused the road conditions, and the chief of police is the first one we've had with any "stones" in a long time.

If the so called mayor of this town Rockford that many call home thinks he knows how to run this city he better think again, Mr. Scott did better. If Morrissey thinks he can get in for another term he’d better think again, I thing a lynch mob has better chance then he does. The roads are awful; the crime I swear has quadrupled and the people are no safer today then we were yesterday …. Morrissey do your self a favor and resign and save your family the shame of another day of having to defend you another min. Oh yea and take the person who calls himself the chief of police as he has done nothing to warrant the title or a spot on any law enforcement agency as if I were in this spot and my people did not have the confidence or believe I me I would leave as there would be nothing for me then as there is nothing for him now… PLEASE SPARE THIS CITY ANOTHER DAY I BEG YOU BOTHE TO JUST GO AWAY!!! LET SOMBODY WHO CARES DO THE JOB!!

Posted by: CJ I simply can not hold my tongue any longer. I have watched in awe at the apathy of the community, and feel that something needs to done. I am completely appalled at the lack of true investigative reporting by any of the media factions we have here in the city. I speak in regards to issues surrounding our mayor, Larry Morrissey. For example, the North Alpine Road Pothole Incident. I think I heard it briefly mentioned once that though a state road, the city has the contract to maintain the road. So, rather than focus on the state aspect, why wasn’t the focus where it really belonged? – Because of the contract, it was THE CITY OF ROCKFORD that let the road get into that shape. I want to know why The CITY let it get so bad, and why nothing has been done about it before now! They were the ones responsible! But this received a bare minimum of attention from the media.

The idea that you have that The chicago police department is not corrupt is absolutely absurd, Chicago police have been know WORLDWIDE for corruption and scandal since the 20's!!!!! Why is it when we get a Mayor they forget they are suppose to work for the people not for their own agenda? What seems to be the problem? I think the Mayor needs to rethink who he is working for we need a Mayor who works for us and supports the people. Mayors are replaceable when they start doing things for themselves.
