I THINK THAT THE CHIEF NEEDS TO FIND SOME OTHER WAY OF DEALING WITH LAWBREAKERS OTHER THAN SHOOTING THEM DOWN LIKE ANIMALS!! WE HAVEN'T HAD SO MANY DEATH RELATED SITUATIONS CONSERNING A POLICE OFFICER IN ALL MY LIFE!!! AND IF HE CAN'T DO THAT THEN HE NEEDS TO RELOCATE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! THE PEOPLE THAT REALLY KNOWS IS PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT'S OUT HERE ON A DAILY BASES AND SEES EVERYTHING! INSTEAD OF GUNNING DOWN HE NEEDS TO STOP AND ASK QUESTIONS ON WHATS THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THINGS. IT MIGHT BE THE WAY HE HANDLED THINGS WHERE HE CAME FROM, BUT IT'S NOT THE WAY HERE!!! IF THAT'S ALL HE KNOWSTHEN HIM AND ALL OF HIS FOLLOWERS NEEDS TO GO!!!!

epperson and the mayor needs to go. they more cops out patroling the area instead of sitting in parking lots chewing the fat. they need to patrol the area. no one is safe in rockford since we are the 2nd highest crime rate all thanks to epperson if we got rid of epperson and the mayor this town would be in alot better off to give to someone that cares.he kisses the mayor butt so he can keep his job. i have never heard of so much complaining beforefrom the police dept til epperson stepped in. he needs to go. no wonder policeman doesn't seem to care about going to work knowing that they have to face a butt kisser

short and to the point........ 3 squads sitting in a vaccant parking lot chewing the fat or 2 hours in a coffee house or 3 hours outside the public safety building getting ready to work ? this is part time on a full time pay and a waste of tax payers money and if they get chewed out for it, then good, they derserve it. epperson is in the right for not accepting lazyness in his department and if they can't work full time on full time pay.....leave just like those other four did. (plain and simple)

In response to Mr. Ed Tazelaar,some who can do, those who can't push papers and make speaches. I am not directly conected to any police officer, but I do see them out there doing a job that most people fear. Instead of degrading them , Epperson should be thankful they are out there every day doing the best they can with what little resourses and personal they have been (granted) by the esteemed Epperson. The reason the " employees " always know more than the " boss " is because they are out there everyday dealing with it face to face. Not locking themselves behind closed doors,refusing to talk to anyone who doesn't support their arrogance.

I'm amazed at some of the things that I've seen here, people saying things based on information that someone else told them or something that they read in the newspapers, heard on the radio, or saw on TV. I think that if some of you individuals take the time to listen to what Chief Epperson is saying, versus what you're believing him to be saying, some of you comments would certainly be a little bit more tolerant and most of these comments wouldn't even be entered here. It always amazes me how the "employees" always know more than the "boss" and it also makes me wonder why the "employees" aren't the "bosses" themselves. I guess it all boils down to education, experience, and the guts to stand alone at the top, knowing that the decisions you make as the boss aren't going to please the majority of the employees, no matter what business you're in! By the way, I might also add that I used to be a police officer myself, not here in Rockford, but in another city where the Chief was BOSS!

Union wants the big money but doesn't want to work for it, shock. Epperson is making them DO their job and many like anywhere else again wants the money but doesn't want to work for it. Maybe so, De LaRosa is still only there because he hispanic but that isn't a surprise either. Like that isn't in every other place of business. People know they can holler racist and win because no one has the balls to stand up and fight back for what is the truth in that matter. It's easier to just give in at let the crap continue. If you don't work...YOUR GONE, no matter what color you are. If your illegal, back to where you belong !! Stop taking our jobs !! So, Epperson is doing nothing wrong, he is doing HIS job, he is the Chief after all and it is pissing people off. If Epperson is short on words, he is only following his lawyers instructions. The house needs to be cleaned out, start wth the on the job internet porn site watchers...BYE BYE and no job in law enforcement anywhere !!
