as we all know that the intersection at riverside and central ave. has always been a problem spot during any snow reguardless of how much, but what really ticks me off is when you see a salt truck sitting on the side of the road watching cars slide through the intersection trying to turn and not putting salt down to prevent an accident from becoming a serious one or a fatality then that driver needs to be fired. this is not something to laugh at and should be taken seriously. do the job your being payed to do instead of watching for an accident to happen....dahhhh !

I disagree, the roads in my area are awful... they've been awful for at least the past week, nobody is making any effort to clean them!

The contract plows have to go.2 contract plow on one dead end street,(Post)Are they payed by the hour? They should really stop plowwing their friends driveways on tax dollars.

Another snow fall and the only plow trucks I saw, were the IDOT plows on I90. I was out for 7 hours during the snow fall. Where are all the Rockford plows and County plows hiding? Our tax dollars not at work again!! Very disappointed!!!

I think snow removal this year is terrible. My neighborhood has never been worse. It started out with a bang (which they happily patted themselves on the back for - and for only 3 inches!) and then it has gotten increasingly worse. It appears only certain streets get attention - especially if an alderman lives on them. My overall opinion is that the current administration feels that if they talk a lot about it, and say they are doing something "new", the public will be pacified. So far I haven't seen the results of any of their talk.

they have been doing a better job this year but with out curbs they tear up my yard more and more and water pouds in front of my house and cant get in my house

If we had curbs our yards worldn't be getting torn up. That is when (as Anne and Deb stated) our streets got plowed. Fine for getting to work with main streets, but first you need to get out of the neighborhood. Help!

Posted by: Anne some area are a lot better plowed then others. In my neighborhood they are only plowing certian streets and not other, one of those being mine. I do not feel that they are doing that great of a job. Yeah it is great that the main roads are clear, but you need to be able to get out of your neighborhood. I agree with Deb who posted a comment on here. She is so right. If I did my job like that, only half way, I would be fired in the blink of an eye.

I Think that the plows should cocentrate on the countryroads more than city roads and the Bridges to.

Posted by: andy my street has been clean !!! excellent job !!!

i live in a small area near guilford and alpine where most of the homes are in the county. snow removal around here is pathetic. i've seen everything from 1/2 the street only being plowed, to plowing when all the snow had melted away, and plowing only when there's a tad bit of slush at the corners of intersections. but give us 3-4 inches of snow and the plows mysteriously dissappear. go figure. i would be fired if i did my job like that!
