I think the mayor and the police chief should resign. This police dept is out of control and it starts from the top and works it way down. The mayor should stay out of it and leave it up to the commission of police and fire. We are short of police officers and the City Counil knows it but they spent money on lawyers from outside of the city and state when they should keep it here. Let's get it together we are all human. Thank you police and chief

When all this started I thought it was because of the change in leadership and getting use to a new boss. But it now boils down to trust if you can't trust who you are working with and for then it is not safe being a Police officer

Epperson is, and was from the day he was appointed chief, totally unqualified for the position of chief of police. The position and power has gone to his head and his actions prove that. He will not resign even though he knows the police officers do not trust or believe in him. If he had an ounce of brains he would realize that resigning would look a lot better on any future resume than being fired for incompetance. Four top officers have left due to his mismanagement and arrogance. He is interfering with the operations of the department and does not seem to care. GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE OPTION TO DO SO......

No, he shouldn't resign. He should continue to stand tall and do the job he was hired to do. This whole mess is nothing but political moves on behalf of the Police union who never wanted Morrissey as mayor in the first place. If they force him to resign, then I guess we don't need a Mayor, Police Chief, Fire Chief, etc. We'll just let the unions run these departments as they have in the past. This police union wants to run the city --- let them!

With out a doubt! Lets see, 276 officers and 4 retired officers that all have more integrity and respect than the so called chief will ever have cant all be wrong! Seriously, Morrissey started this mess when he chose Epperson, and now he is standing by his mistake! Guess what? Morrissey has committed political suicide! You can bet your butt on that one and you can say you heard it here first! Just remember, the day after the next mayoral election in this city, it wont be Morrissey who is the mayor and it wont be epperson who is the chief! Good day to all!
