Round up in your Checkbook
When I do my checkbook, I always round up to the nearest dollar on outgoing checks and debit transactions at the stores.  Then I round down to the nearest dollar all deposits.  It may not sound like much, but at the end of each month, I could have an extra $50-$60 dollars.  I save time by not subtracting all the cents (I made too many mistakes anyway), and I'm never over-drawn, which is another plus.

I agree with your rounding up in the check book idea. I recently started doing that. I think I do the rounding down in the deposits too. I just pre qualified with a mtg person and they and they told me I am the kind of person they call boring. All I do is pay my bills. So Kathy, in ROckford. This method does work. And I have only balanced my checkbook a handful of times in my 47 years. Yet I am very aware of getting my bills paid and knowing there is a cusion. Last month I realized I was ahead over one thousand dollars in my DDA. A much better surprise than finding out I was overdrawn and all the consequenses that come with it.
