Cheap Trick Blog

State officials have proclaimed April 1st as Cheap Trick day in the state of Illinois . So now that the state of Illinois has honored Cheap Trick what can or should we do in Rockford to pay tribute to our internationally known home town band?

This is great !!! Cheap Trick does not get the recognition that they deserve !!! Contact the Coronado and Metro Centre to bring them to Rockford for a concert in 2007 or 2008 !!!

While i think it is great for CHeap Trick to recieve this honor and something should be done in Rockford. Our Reps in Springfield need to get the job done concerning the budget and what ever they are going to do about the rates. They need to stop dragging their feet and get this done.

I sang with Robin Zander when I was in high school in 1983. My Choir Teacher, Rulee Stallman at the time set all this up and our whole class got to meet them all at the midway theater. I think it is great that they honor them in the city of Rockford and should get the key to the city as well as recoginition for being so friendly and insperational to many at home and in the singing industry.

Wouldn't it be a joke if they showed up that week playing in some club like the old Place on Main and Auburn or the Barn.. Do a live interview on the morning show.!

Cheap Trick was one of the loudest concerts that I ever attended during the Dream Police tour. But they were also some of the finest musicians that I ever saw play at Notre Dame ACC in South Bend ,IN. Rick Neilsen and Bun E. Carlos are among two of my most favorite guitarist and drummers. One thing the good folks of Rockford might consider is to perhaps name or re-name some streets or avenues after the members of the band. They are among the finest rock groups this nation , and the world for that matter, has ever had the pleasure to enjoy listening to. And you have every right to be damn proud of these guys Rockford!

Who gives a #@$% !! You have got to be kidding. Cheap Trick is nothing more than an old washed up teenybopper band. There music always sucked...why do you think they aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Because they don't deserve to be. Rick Neilson loves himself so much I am surprised his arms aren't sore from patting himself on the back so much.

Why does Rockford spend so much effort supporting aging Rock Stars But Doesn't get behind the local bands that are struggling to make it big?

Posted by: paul Location: rockford
i don't think that the governor knows what "cheap trick" means. i think "cheap trick" is a reference to the word trick as in prank , rather than it's actual implied meaning. also , keep rick neilson out of the capital , he is a showboating clown , and should not represent rockford, you dont go to the capitol building and lay down on the flor to lok at the ceiling , goofball

I hardly think anyone will compare the band with any association of April Fools Day. CT may be known for theatrics, but never foolishness. April first is just another day. I never heard anyone call them fools, they are all intelligent musicians with a long history in the music business, and happen to be from Rockford. AWESOME Guys. What, no GOLD watch ? The State should throw those in as well.
