Bruce Lewis, better known as Mr. Mustache, was a staple in Rockford and on WIFR. His popular children's program ran from 1967 until 1982. He died this week of cancer at the age of 67.

Did you appear on his show? Did he draw your characture? Post your memories here of Mr. Mustache.

I too remember visiting Mr. Mustache with my Girl Scout Troup, in the early 80's. His was a show I watched frequently and now, 30 years later, I still hold fond memories of his show & personality. My sincere condolences to the Lewis Family. Thank you for sharing him with us, for so many years. Blessings to you all.

I remember watching Mr. Mustache as a child on Sunday Mornings. I was on his show with my Girl Scouts Troop as a child. I remember going to WIFR with my troop and meeting Mr. Mustache and was a little shy. My family has not let me forgotten that moment. My prayers go out to the Lewis family. He will never be forgotten and the memories he gave me as a child. My only wish is that my children would have known him.

I watched Mr. Mustache as a child and he gave me fond memories of his show. I used to get my sketch pad out and start drawing with him. I remember when I starting drawing a animal out of the letter p and from that day drawing is a passion of mine thats to Mr. Mustace he will be greatly missed and my prayers and thoughts go out to the Lewis family. I will be forever grateful for the great memories he gave me in my childhood.

I am very saddened. AI watched his show as a child and loved it. I wrote to his email a few years back and told him how much my boyfriend and i enjoyed him being part of our childhood and he asked me for my boyfriend's name and our address. He then drew us an ORIGINAL Mr. Mustache cartoon and sent it to me in Florida. He said the letter I sent him was one of the best things he had ever gotten! That made me so happy since he was such a large part of my childhood! He will be greatly missed! My prayers are with his family! You had a great man!

I used to watch Mr. Mustache as a kid and I have very fond memories of it. I could never draw anything but stick figures but Mr. Mustache entertained me for years! My heart goes out to the Lewis family.

Yes, the Mr. Mustache show will forever be engraved in my memory as one of the happier times in my life. Every Sunday, going to Mr Steak to get our sheets for the week, but never able to attend the show. But to be finally rewarded in meeting him in person through my friends and his son. Yes, Mr. Mustache is real my friends and is exactly how everyone portrays him as very out going and full of laughter. I will forever be apart of who I would like to be and remember! God Bless him and the Lewis family...although he has moved on his memories will forever remembered by all!

We were discussing his passing at work yesterday and the majority of people over 30 knew exactly who he was. Everyone had nothing but fond memories of him and his show. Mr. Mustache, Bruce Lewis, was an asset to the Rockford community and a cherished part of it's history.

What a very special part of my childhood! I'm 49 now and I remember begging my parents to take us to "Mr Steak" to get the starter sheets. He made it fun and drawings easy, mailing them in then looking for my drawing on next weeks show! You are always in my memories, may God bless you and your family.

I abosolutely love his show. I still can draw a cowboy that he drew on his show and have showed my children. I'm 45 and he was a great source of entertainment when I was growing up. He will be sorely missed. He was one of a kind.

Mr. Mustache recently drew pictures for guests at my wedding and was a huge hit! When I was a young boy I was a guest on his show too. He was part of the Rockford culture from the 30 somethings around Rockford and his passion for art was infectious.
