2 sticks butter
4 oz unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts work well)
In a large saucepan, heat the butter over moderately low heat until about half melted. Add the chocolate and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each egg. Add the vanilla and salt and blend. Add the flour all at once and stir until mixed. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased 9x13" pan and bake in a preheated 350 deg oven about 30 minutes or just until barely firm to the touch. Allow to cool in the pan and cut into brownies. These are rich. Cut them small and it will make about 35 brownies.
