French Toast Casserole


1/3 cup melted butter
2 TBSP light corn syrup
3/4 cup light brown sugar
French bread
8 eggs
1 cup milk
1 TBSP vanilla
1 TBSP cinnamon
Chopped walnuts or pecans
Powdered sugar


Combine butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar and spread in a 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish. Cut bread into 1-inch thick slices and layer over mixture. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together and pour over bread, allowing all slices to absorb egg mixture. Cover with walnuts or pecans; cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Serve with maple syrup.
