Asparagus and Fettucini Alfredo

Ingredients

8-9 oz fresh fettucini (from the dairy case)
1 TBSP oil
1 bunch asparagus (approximately 1 & 1/3 pounds) trimmed and cut into 1-inch lengths
1 to 2 cups prepared Alfredo sauce (from a jar)
Shredded Parmesan cheese (about 4-6 ounces)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Bring 6 quarts of water to boil in a large pot. Add asparagus and cook 2-4 minutes. Add fresh noodles to boiling water and cook 1-2 minutes or until done. Drain noodles and asparagus and add 1 tablespoon oil to mixture and return to pot and keep warm. Stir in Alfredo sauce and place in a flat spaghetti bowl. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.

This dish is very good with some (1 or 2 cups) of cubed, cooked chicken or shrimp added.
