8 5-to-1 kosher hot dogs (5 to 1 refers to 5 hot dogs per pound)
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese (1/8'' thick, sliced lengthwise)
8 slices bacon (thick sliced)
16 toothpicks


Prepare the grill for the direct heat method.
With a sharp knife, slice down the middle of each hot dog, leaving about 1 inch unsliced from the top. Place 1 piece of cheese into the middle of each hot dog. Insert a toothpick into the top of the hot dog. Secure a slice of bacon on this toothpick and wrap the bacon around the rest of the hot dog. Secure the bacon slice at the bottom of the hot dog with another toothpick.
Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. When the bacon is browned and the cheddar is melted, remove, serve and enjoy.
