Irish Yeast Bread


1 cup milk
1 pkg yeast
1 TBSP sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBSP butter, melted
1 egg, beaten
2 cups all purpose flour


Warm milk (about 105 deg) and stir in yeast, sugar and salt. Allow to stand about 5 minutes or until it starts to bubble. Stir in butter, egg and flour until smooth. Turn into a well greased 8 or 9 inch cake pan or skillet.
Allow to rise until doubled in bulk (about 30 minutes). Bake at 350 deg for about 30 minutes or until brown. Serve hot with butter.
